MBX Adventure City | Mazda MX-5 Miata

Roadsters are small type cars that became sort of trend in the mid-1990s with the rising popularity of Mazda’s MX-5 or in some countries known simply as the Mazda Roadster a rear type sports coupe.

Matchbox produced the fourth generation edition of the MX-5 as part of the 2016 series. It’s one of the rare cars seen available on retail and known as an iconic car for the Mazda brand that’s been a top seller all over the world.

The fourth generation of Mazda’s MX-5 was introduced to the world in North America, Spain, and Japan in September 2014. There were two variations of the MX-5 which is a 2-door roadster and a 2-door retractable fastback. The car is manufactured in Mazda’s Hiroshima plant.

Pint-Size Roadster

This is the second edition of the Mazda MX-5 come in dark grey for the 2017 release. Its new model year produced by Matchbox for 2016 was released in signature red and one of the uncommon cars.

Based on the fourth generation MX-5 it’s got almost all the details of the real thing. The headlights and taillights though need a better detailing as they don’t appear realistic a bit cartoony when you look closely.

Zoom-Zoom

Matchbox released the MX-5 in the mainline and just as iconic as its real car counterpart packaged in its impressive art. This was released in a short card that is rarely available in some markets, but in Australia this can be found in supermarkets.

Overall the Mazda MX-5 is an impressive roadster that revolutionized this size that other companies followed up their version. This 2017 edition released by Matchbox has great casting detail the only thing that looks unreal is the headlights and taillights tampograph. But the rest is superb with how it came out in die-cast form.

There’s a slight difference between the 2015 and 2017 editions of the Mazda MX-5 Miata, but aside from that is the same car with its updated features unless you’re talking about the RF edition that’s another conversation to discuss. But the Matchbox casting doesn’t deviate from the real one, but this Soul Red edition of the Miata can give you the reason why it’s slightly different. Overall it’s still homage for the Miata model regardless of its model year.

“2015 Mazda MX-5 Miata” is numbered 10 0f 125 die-cast cars released for Matchbox in 2017 and it was acquired at Coles during end of month sale in Westfield Marion for $2.10 AUD (originaly retailed at $3.00 AUD) or PhP 84.00 in Philippine Peso.

Matchbox is distributed and sold in Australia by Mattel Pty., LTD. based in Richmond, Victoria.
