Bay to Birdwood 2024 | History on Wheels

Automotive Enthusiast from South Australia has a passion for the cars of yesteryears, and it is evident when it comes to local car meets like the Cars & Coffee at Blackwood or the All Japan Day held nearby in Glenelg in the City of Holdfast Bay. It is something to be inspired by and admired as this event has been since in the 80s.

The event has been an annual tradition for celebrating heritage, classic, and vintage cars and their history. You have to appreciate their individual stories and at the same time capture their images on the road from West Beach to the National Motors Museum.

There’s nothing like the car culture in South Australia that is inviting and not limited to a niche crowd that only knows “car culture” as it is for everyone is welcome to satisfy their desires and see their dream cars. It is fascinating to see images that have been out there on social media from those who were there in the early morning to catch these passionate gearheads driving their prized classic.

Every year the Bay to Birdwood is a sight to see just to get a glimpse of some aging cars built from the 1900s to the mid-90s. There’s something satisfying about seeing cars with powerful engines that are no longer in production or cars that are a century old that look impressive by showing how simple cars were back in the day.

Bay to Birdwood is not just limited to cars, trucks, and Utes, but also some classic motorcycles that may not have been seen on a daily drive and only come out of the garage for this event that certainly count as part of automotive history.

Below are just the images taken from yesterday’s festivities that started at West Beach (Adelaide, South Australia) where everyone has the chance to showcase their beloved machines.

The event is not just a showcase of classic cars there are also programs and other related activities happening during the duration of the event. Bay to Birdwood happens annually and is sponsored by the National Motor Museum and the South Australian Government.
