There have been many iterations and colors that the Renault Kangoo II Express was ever produced by Majorette from 2010 to the present. The real Kangoo II which is the second generation light commercial vehicle had many names in some parts of Europe and Japan being rebadged as the Nissan NV250 and as the Mercedes-Benz Citan.
This 1/64 scale version is the Kangoo II Express in DHL colors complete with all the details of the actual American founded German company which is DHL (Dalsey, Hillblom and Lynn). The font lettering down to the small description of what DHL Express is all about was the overall appearance of the Kangoo II Express.
City Series in Service
Packaged in blister card this most recent iteration of the Renault Kangoo is part of the Majorette City Series, which features vehicles that you see in the city that’s either taking out your rubbish or delivering your parcels. This small line of 1/64 scale diecast vehicles ranges from taxi cabs to emergency services.
So far in this series it’s the one with the real world licensed brand service being the DHL Express van. The intricate details of a genuine German company using this van’s service was impressive and probably but not the first to ever use the DHL brand. The only thing that doesn’t look realistic is the wheels where it appears a bit a sporty type than the usual Renault Kangoo in the real world.
How to Load up a Kangoo
Majorette diecast cars are considered the French counterpart to Matchbox that has been around for fifty years. Like its product rival it retains the tradition of realism based from real world licenced cars, but lacks some details that Matchbox cars even today there’s still difference when it comes to aesthetics.
But what Matchbox lacks with their modern cars is the traditional gimmick, which are opening car doors, opening bonnets, or rear compartments. The Renault Kangoo can open its rear door for loading up the parcels and packages, which does not emphasized in the packaging as the back of the card does not have cross sell or even details of the any gimmick for this one that’s quite a surprise.
Overall the Renault Kangoo II Express may not have a well detailed aesthetics based on the real vehicle, but definitely attracts attention on the pegs for its DHL Express appearance and its opening rear door gimmick is a surprise to anyone picking this up. The only downside is the detailed wheels which are too generic, but entirely a good representation of the Renault Kangoo in 1:64 scales as a DHL Express van is enough to have this in anyone’s collection.
Renault Kangoo is manufactured by Majorette, which is available exclusively at Toy Kingdom and Toy Kingdom Express in the Philippines that is distributed by Richwell Prime retailed at ₱ 179.75 Pesos ($ 5.00 AUD | $ 3.51 USD)**
