Majorette Street Cars | Toyota Hilux Revo
The Hi-Lux or Hilux pick-up truck currently is on its eighth generation and continues to evolve but back to the late 1960s to early 1970s Toyota manufactured its first generation sold only for the Japanese market. There have been various pickup truck and cab chassis produced in the various stage of its life.
Toyota would also market the brand to the American brand improving its aesthetics and function to suit its various countries need for its design and also conformity. Besides the US market the Hi-Lux brand underwent some name changes and re-badge, but kept its identity underneath the hood that also catered to other countries that also include Australasia, Europe and rest of the world.
Street Cars | Pickup Series
Based from the 2015 pickup truck is the eighth generation of a long line of Hilux heritage. It had a facelift by 2017 where Majorette based it on the casting that was released for 2018 for the Street Cars range under also the “Pickup Series,” the basic class product for Majorette or more known for those who are new to the brand.
Since this is introduced to the mainstream range under the Street Cars brand it doesn’t have much bells and whistles, but Majorette kept the casting well detailed from its diecast body down to the quality of paint used with the truck’s heft in comparison to the other competitive brands that produced Toyota’s line of pickup trucks.
Just like all the Street Cars in this range they are packaged in a short carded bubble with no details of the product, but numerous language and info where it is being distributed. Majorette keeps the packaging fairly simple and let the actual product speak for it for the reason the Street Cars is the entry product for newbies.

Toyota | Hilux Revo
Eight Generations of Toyota pickup truck heritage and the Hilux brand continues to be the workhorse for that keeps on truckin’ globally. Majorette certainly made this basic car as one of the favorites for most collectors particularly in Southeast Asia.
In the Philippines alone this casting would be considered uncommon to rare due to the real life truck is common in the street of Manila and other parts of the country. Although the badge name will still be “Hilux” the extended “Revo” is reserved to another Toyota SUV that is more known in Southeast Asian countries only.
Majorette did not scrimp on the details down to its clear name badge at the rear part of the truck bed. From the front headlamps to the taillights the Toyota Hilux Revo is impressive that also includes a tow bar to haul in trailers as this casting maybe available to other Majorette products that might pack a trailer in the future.
Toyota Trucks | Hilux Revo to Tacoma
The origins of the Hilux brand did not just continue its evolution, but also spinoff to another pickup truck as the US market is more about utility vehicle and to compete in that part of the world Toyota produced the Tacoma, which is more known in that country to compete with US brands that are big with powerful engines.
Majorette has only produced the Hilux truck with the original casting from 2006 to 2012 and with the recent model for 2018. With other diecast brands like Matchbox they had produced two recent Totoya Tacoma variants, which is more closely related to its Hilux cousin with the upgraded front grille design by the later.
In comparison side-by-side without looking at the scale both the 2016 Tacoma and 2018 Hilux Revo has similarities, but you’re looking at how to companies reinterpreted in producing the casting. Clearly, Majorette put more quality in the details as well as how hefty the diecast on the Hilux Revo for the bacis Street Car range that is mostly overlooked by some collectors with its only lack of wheel design that uses the most generic styling in this series.
Overall the Toyota Hilux Revo is a great find for any pickup truck collector or to those who actually owned the real deal. Majorette certainly made a good casting but only had the shortcomings when using the right wheels it could have been perfect. But since this is introduced in the Street Car range there must be product cost involved for the reason the choice of generic wheels where used similar to its Toyota Corolla Altis.
“Toyota Hilux Revo” is part of the 2018 Street Cars series by Majorette and is retailed at PhP 129.75 Pesos ($ 3.74 AUD | $ 2.55 USD**) distributed by Europlay Distributor Co in the Philippines. This was acquired during the Toy Kingdom Toy Warehouse Sale and was priced at PhP 100.00 Pesos ($ 2.88 AUD | $ 1.97 USD**)
