Cars & Coffee | Starts The New Year

The start of 2018 Cars & Coffee returns to Blackwood with delightful fanfare. However getting there without a car is a challenge if your only chance is to commute by bus or train which the early mornings quite expected.

If last November 2017 was an indication this meet up is slowing down you got it mistaken. The event is more like welcoming an old friend or seeing old acquaintances that seemed more of a celebration for people who are passionate about cars.

There’s nothing like going to Cars & Coffee in the early morning however we never got there early so practically missed most of the highlights. But there are still the tail-end of a very long Sunday that feature more cars than a case of Hot Wheels or Matchbox die-cast collectibles.

Aside from the glamorous classics cars from different eras to the near present there are also motorbikes on display in one side of Woolworth’s parking lot. There are several cars taking space in each corner of the Blackwood commercial centre. It’s impressive to see them that some you’ve only seen in 1:64th scale.

You’ll be surprised how passionate each car owner driving through the hallowed halls of this parking lot. Its quite inspiring how cars has evolved with technology and design aesthetics at the same time people who owned the old ones still yearns for nostalgia that they want to share with the new generation.

Though there have been considerably less cars when getting to the car meet during the late mornings its interesting that the ones who stayed have been the ones that caught some attention including that Lotus Esprit S1 that pays tribute to the James Bond car based from “The Spy Who Loved Me.”

But the excitement was slowly winding down, which is still a success among the gear head who where there earlier in the morning. The next Cars & Coffee would certainly have another huge turn out, which continue to grow spilling out in the Blackwood commercial centre it’s a matter of time it becomes one of the best places to see automotive industry from past to present.

Though you missed the entire event early mornigns check out the photos above. You can also catch up and get more updates on the next one LIKE Cars and Coffee Blackwood on Facebook!
