Movie Review | Ford v Ferrari
This is not just about dealing with drama it paints a picture how Ford Motor Company, a car maker back then used to be a butt of jokes for making “ugly cars.” To sum it up “Ford v Ferrari” is like a car in itself that starts its ignition slowly and takes you to a slow ride that accelerated from start to finish. Matt Damon as the car designer Carroll Shelby and Christian Bale as ‘Puppy Dog’ Ken Miles two different personalities must work together in building what would become the iconic Ford GT-40, a machine that would take down the Ferrari 330 P3 in the 24 Le Mans.
Both characters despite their difference must also face their own struggles with Shelby’s (Damon) health problems and Miles’ (Bale) financial struggles at the same time these men being viewed by others as outsiders. Mangold the director who helmed “Logan” certainly was dead set in directing this film is glorious in managing the balance on the cast at the same time the racing scenes namely the Le Mans endurance race how it is depicted based on real life events.
This was quite a ride that was fiery intense if you’ve been put into Ken Miles’ driver seat this was something impressive that event though you’re not into cars it was durably blissful at the turn of the GT-40 in every corner.
There’s nothing like accuracy down to the engine roars of the participating race cars. The story behind the GT-40 as a Ferrari killer was impressive add Bale’s characterization of Ken Miles is worth an Oscar nod that rips the race track with that awesome musical score and that soundtrack you got a hot under-the-radar film that you should definitely see that is slowly getting some high praises.
Overall “Ford v Ferrari” is a flick for those who appreciate cars and interested in one of the enduring stories in motorsport history. You may not be a car nut but this film will surely make a petrol head out of you.
“Ford v Ferrari” is NOW PLAYING in cinemas beginning in the Philippines on 13 November 2019 and in Australia & New Zealand on 14 November 2019. Check your nearest cinemas for show times and this is from 20th Century Fox.
