Ford’s Mustang is synonymous of the brands heritage ever to produce a muscle car that would define what a compact vehicle is at the same time the styling for its sleek and manly appearance. The first generation is iconic you can definitely see how Ford has mass produced this in eight years.
Even though it’s popular for its design and styling, Ford continue to develop and introduce variations in-between its production years. Minor changes can be seen in its appearance while retaining consistency of its template for its popularity.
The Mudstanger
Matchbox originally introduced the 1968 Custom Mustang known as a “Mudstanger” in 2016 in green with mud splatter on each side of the car with oversized wheels. It’s one of Matchbox’s radical designs to introduce a custom Mustang a 4x4 vehicle able to take any terrain whenever you drive it.
So far there are three variations of the “Mudstanger” that was released, which was sold in the mainline and under the color change series in orange. The 2017 was released in white with a racing graphics tampograph with the number 12.
Muscular Machine
The appearance of the 1968 Custom Mustang is hilarious sporting oversize wheels it can be translated in the real world. It’s quite interesting how Matchbox has put together an iconic “pony car” and turned into a 4x4 off-road Mustang.
It has interiors and nice trims on its wheels, but there are not many details down to the wheel axle and suspension. But close enough to attract collectors and Mustang fans who would like to see a radical look on a classic car that speaks heritage and off-road concept that takes a fresh look on a term ‘muscle car.’
