Introduced in 1992 the Renault Twingo is a four passenger city car that saw production with three generation and most recent model debuted at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, receiving its formal market launch in September 2014.The name “Twingo” is a portmanteau of the words twist, swing, and tango. It is smaller than the Clio and Megane hatchback cars also with Renault.
The third generation Renault Twingo debuted in March 2014 at the Geneva Motor Show in a five-door, rear-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout, co-developed with Daimler's third generation Smart Fortwo and second generation Smart Forfour.
The third generation Twingo and second generation Forfour are manufactured at the same factory in Novo Mesto, Slovenia. The third generation Twingo entered into production in May 2014 at Novo Mesto and was launched into the European market in September.

Majorette has produced the original casting for the Twingo’s first generation retired 2007, followed by the second generation retired in 2014, and currently like its real life counterpart the third generation introduced in 2016.
Currently, there have been five colorways for this model and this “Paris Edition” was exclusive only for the France market. But based on Majorette’s Australasia marketing it produced overruns that were sold in selected parts of Asia including the Philippines.
In the Philippines, the Paris Edition is commonly seen in pegs at Toy Kingdom, which is the exclusive toy store that carries the Majorette brand. Silhouette city of Paris can be seen as the livery on both sides of this car that makes it stand out from the standard released of the Renault Twingo although not a popular car to local collectors.
Fast Hatch with Style
The aesthetics and details of the Renault Twingo is clearly a standout having front and rear taillights that includes the car’s brand logo can be seen well-painted shows Majorette’s quality is up there for the reason you get what you pay for. Although not as a favorite among diecast collectors this is as close as you’ll ever see this car for Asian markets that don’t have any actual Renault cars on the road.
Like any Majorette casting it still carries the tradition of working suspension, detailed aesthetics close to the real car, and is 1/57 scale in comparison to other diecast brands. The Twingo also have an impressive set of black wheels that even though it uses the generic rim design Majorette made it stylish in black to appear this little hatch can be a racer too representing its city.
Overall the Renault Twingo Paris Edition is unique with its livery compared to the other standard versions of the same casting. What also makes this special is the paintjob with its pearly white main color that has the red and black lines across both sides that also runs to the front grill of the car with the Renault logo highlights.
Although wheel design will always be in question for being generic if you look at it, but despite that type it will be immediately forgotten due to being painted in black. The car may not be as photogenic as the Renault Clio it can be said that the “Paris” livery made it a little attractive that adds interest to the Renault brand.
“Renault Twingo: Paris Edition” is part of the 2018 Street Cars series by Majorette and is retailed at PhP 129.75 Pesos ($ 3.74 AUD | $ 2.55 USD**) distributed by Europlay Distributor Co in the Philippines.
