Like all hybrid and electric cars its noting that their appearance is different from standard road cars powered by petrol or diesel engine. They somewhat a little futuristic mimicking exterior designs similar to science fiction.
The BMW i3 is no science fiction but a fact it was developed as a concept car then known as Mega City Vehicle (MCV) an all-electric mass produced hatchback. Its history can be traced back in 2011 when it was introduced in the International Motor Show Germany that went through various changes until it became a mass-produced car that can be seen in the roads of Australia, some parts of Europe and North America. Interesting enough it doesn’t appear to be an electric car but it is.
Boxed in 1/64th Scale
Matchbox brings you their interpretation of the BMW i3 for the 2017 mainline based on the 2015 model. Its part of new castings introduced as part of the “New Models” under the “Adventure City Subtheme. The new BMW i3 comes in piano black with that appears to be one of the underrated new cars in the 2017 series.
Everything looks well in detail about the BMW i3 with the exception of its quality when it comes to the tampographed art namely the front headlines. The design team behind this seemed to overdo the graphic that makes it look a bit cartoony. But the rest of the comments with the wheels down, body casting, and colours its one of the cars to look for in display racks.
Green is the new Black
The BMW i3 seemed to be not as an attractive car due to its overall look and design un-BMW like with the sci-fi elements of this car nobody hardly noticed that it was one of the new cars introduced by Matchbox for 2017.
Overall the casting down to the details of the BMW i3 is all good save for the overly cartoonish tampographed applications on the headlights. Other than that its all good regarding the way Matchbox produced it in 1/64 cal that needs minor improvement of the graphic application for this car.
“2015 BMW i3” is numbered 5 0f 125 die-cast cars released for Matchbox in 2017 and it was acquired at Big W in Westfield Marion for $2.00 AUD (originaly retailed at $3.00 AUD) or PhP 80.00 in Philippine Peso.
Matchbox is distributed and sold in Australia by Mattel Pty., LTD. based in Richmond, Victoria.
